"Kalendarium Hortense"is an edition of 25 giclée, case bound, artist books. Kalendarium Hortense" was exhibited in the books arts exhibit BUILT at 23 Sandy Gallery in Portland, Oregon in the spring of 2017 and is included in the Book and Paper Arts Collection at the University of Washington, Seattle and the Artist Book Collection in Special Collections at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
I grew up outside; wandering through stands of fragrant citrus trees, breathing Atlantic and deep Pacific ocean breezes, weeding the family vegetable garden in Southern summer heat. Family threads passing through all things growing, the patterns of everyday environments, visionary thinking as an assumption and a love of all building and mechanical phenomena form the matrix for my future passions and perspectives. I have spent and continue to spend my life applying and changing the emphasis of each thread through work in the disciplines of fine arts, teaching and architecture.
